XMM-Newton 25th Anniversary Conference 19 – 22 May 2025

We are pleased to announce the XMM-Newton 25th Anniversary Conference, in Baltimore, MD, on 19 – 22 May 2025.

This conference will celebrate 25 years since the mission’s first light in early 2000, providing an opportunity for the X-ray community to come together and celebrate the many exciting discoveries made by, and yet to come from, one of our flagship missions. Conference topics will cover the wide breadth of XMM science, including but not limited to:

  • Time domain science
  • Exoplanet habitability and stellar science
  • Active galactic nuclei, starburst, and outflows
  • Clusters and groups of galaxies
  • Supernova remnants
  • Solar System science
  • X-ray binaries, compact objects, and ultra-luminous X-ray sources

Additionally, there will be sessions devoted to the history of XMM-Newton, its synergy with current and future multi-wavelength missions, and its role as a pathfinder for future missions such as NewAthena and AXIS.

Abstract submission for contributed talks and posters is now open.

  • 28 March: Abstract Sub Deadlmission Deadline for Contributed Talks
  • Around 4 April: Registration Opens
  • Around 25 April: Registration Deadline
  • 7 May: Abstract Submissionine for Posters

Important Note for NASA Civil Servants: Attendees planning to participate in this NASA-sponsored domestic event must register in NCTS by close of business 14 March 2025 (NCTS # 51864-25).
