IXPE Cycle 2 Proposal Deadline Reminder: 29 August 2024

Dear colleagues,

We wish to remind you that the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) Cycle 2 General Observer (GO) proposals are due on 29 August 2024. Please refer to our proposers web page for a description of the program, submission details, and schedule. Proposals must be submitted through the Astrophysics Research Knowledgebase Remote Proposal System (ARK/RPS) portal.

We encourage prospective proposers to note the recent updates to the IXPE GO program, including the ability to request target-of-opportunity (ToO) observations of unknown/generic targets, and the addition of new joint programs. If you have any questions about the GO program, please do not hesitate to reach out to the IXPE help desk. Potential proposers are also encouraged to register for the upcoming joint NICER/IXPE workshop.

We will also begin forming peer-review committees in the near future. The review will be held in person, in the Baltimore/Washington D.C area at the end of October 2024. If you would like to be considered as a reviewer, please email kavitha.arur@nasa.gov and send a brief description of your research interests and expertise. Reviewers must have a PhD at the time of the review.

Additionally, we are also seeking graduate students to serve as executive secretaries at the review. If you would like to be considered, please email kavitha.arur@nasa.gov and send a brief description of your research interests and expertise.
