Hilton Waikōloa Village, Waikōloa, Hawai‘i
26 – 30 March 2023
We invite the high-energy community attending the HEAD 20 Meeting to join us at a splinter session dedicated to the Advanced X-ray Imaging Satellite Probe (AXIS). The session will be held in the Queen’s 6 room on Sunday 26 March 2023 at 1:30p Hawaii Time (7:30p Eastern).
AXIS is a NASA Probe Mission Concept designed to be the next premier high angular resolution X-ray mission. AXIS will extend and enhance the science of high-angular resolution X-ray imaging and spectroscopy with ~10x more collecting area than Chandra, a large field of view (24' x 24'), and excellent spatial resolution (~1 resolution over a 15′ × 15′ field of view).
The session will feature a series of talks that will give an overview of AXIS, as well as the varied and exciting science that AXIS will probe, including:
Topic | Speaker |
---|---|
AXIS Overview | Chris Reynolds; PI |
MBH Growth and Evolution | Adi Foord |
Transient Science | Mark Reynolds |
Galaxy Evolution and Feedback | Anthony Flores |
Stars and Exoplanets | Rodolfo Montez |
Compact Objects and SNR | Hui Yang and Noel Klingler |
The AXIS High-Speed X-ray Camera | Eric Miller |
