Hilton Waikōloa Village, Waikōloa, Hawai‘i
26 – 30 March 2023
The Astrophysics Probe Explorer (APEX) announcement of opportunity (AO) is expected to be released in the late summer of 2023. The cost cap for an APEX mission is $1000M, and it will be the first such AO for this class of mission. The AO calls for either a FIR or X-ray observatory, and in this session each of the X-ray probes currently being developed will present their concepts. As these probes will be the first of their kind, it is timely to discuss how they may differ from Small and Medium Explorers, and a Flagship class in their guest observer access, and have a discussion about what role the community would like to see the probes take.
The APEX X-ray Probes special session will be held in the Monarchy Ballroom on Wednesday 29 March 2023 at 5p Hawaii Time (11p Eastern). The session will include the following talks:

Line Emission Mapper (LEM) | Ralph Kraft |
