Physics of the Cosmos Abbreviation Change

You may notice that the current mail from the Physics of the Cosmos office is titled a little differently: “PCOS-News” has become “PhysCOS-News.”

Since the start of the Physics of the Cosmos program, we have abbreviated the program name as “PCOS.” However, this abbreviation is more commonly known to the general public as a chronic medical condition, and to avoid confusion in future activities, we have received permission to switch to a less ambiguous term—PhysCOS. We’ve updated our website text and email headers accordingly, and are working to propagate the changes further, while constrained by the need to maintain continuity in our mailing history and web presence.
