LISA Summer Science Webinar Series

The PhysCOS Gravitational Wave Science Interest Group (GW SIG) is hosting a series of four webinars over summer 2025, focused on different aspects relevant to the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) project. These sessions have the specific goal of broadening community awareness of and participation in LISA science.

The first of the seminars took place on Thursday 29 May at 2p Eastern (11a Pacific):

• “LISA project update and the role of the LISA Science Team” — Speakers: Ira Thorpe (NASA GSFC) and Joey Key (UW Bothell). Slides and a recording of this webinar are now available on the event webpage.

• 26 June 2025 at 2p Eastern (11a Pacific) — “The LISA consortium: vision on its role going forward and how to get involved” — Speaker: Deirdre Shoemaker (University of Texas at Austin)
• 24 July 2025 at 11a Eastern (8a Pacific) — “LISA data and alerts: What is the content of LISA data? What is the plan for the alerts? What does the broad community need?” — Speaker: Tyson Littenberg (NASA MSFC)
• 7 August 2025 at 11a Eastern (8a Pacific) — “LISA science funding opportunities for the US community: from the LISA Preparatory Science program to Guest Investigator programs” — Speakers: Ira Thorpe (NASA GSFC) and Thomas Hams (NASA HQ)
