XMM-Newton Virtual Data Analysis Workshop on 1 – 3 April 2025

The NASA XMM-Newton Guest Observer Facility and ESA Science Operations Centre invite you to our first virtual Data Analysis Workshop, taking place 1-3 April 2025.

This workshop will:

  • Highlight the diverse scientific studies that can be enabled by XMM-Newton data.
  • Introduce new users to the Science Analysis System (SAS) and Extended Source Analysis Software (ESAS), as enabled through Jupyter notebooks.
  • Provide beginners with an introduction to the XMM archive.
  • Introduce both new and experienced users to the prospect of XMM data analysis on SciServer and Datalabs.
  • Additionally, there will be sessions tailored to more experienced users, including a discussion about how to get involved in pySAS development.
