ROSES-24 D.6 FERMI GI: Removing INTEGRAL and Reminder on Page Limits

The Fermi General Investigator (GI) program solicits proposals for basic research relevant to the Fermi mission. The primary goal of this mission is to perform 20 MeV to >300 GeV gamma-ray measurements over the entire celestial sphere, with sensitivity a factor of 30 or more greater than that obtained by earlier space missions. A secondary goal includes the study of transient gamma-ray sources with energies extending from 8 keV up to 300 GeV.

ROSES-2024 Amendment 113 announces that the INTEGRAL – Fermi joint observation program will not be available for proposals to D.6 Fermi this year, since ESA has announced that INTEGRAL operations will be terminated at the end of February 2025. References to INTEGRAL have been struck through.

The Phase-1 Proposal due date is 5 March 2025.

Reminder, the page limit for the Science/Technical/ Management section of Phase-1 proposals is four pages for Regular proposals and six pages for Large proposals. These page limits include figures but not references. This is a change from Cycle 17 when the 4– and 6 – page limits included references.

Please direct technical questions concerning D.6 Fermi to fermihelp@milkyway.gsfc.nasa.gov. programmatic questions to Antonino Cucchiara at Antonino.Cucchiara@nasa.gov, and questions concerning Fermi capabilities to the Fermi Project Scientist, Elizabeth Hays, at Elizabeth.A.Hays@nasa.gov.
