Important News for Awardees of Current Grants from NASA

Dear Physics of the Cosmos (PhysCOS) community members, we have important news for awardees of current grants from NASA:

Please be aware that as of 1 October 2024, the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) requires a 1st No-Cost Extension (NCE) to be requested 10 days before the end of the Period of Perfor-mance and for any subsequent NCE requests (2nd 3rd, etc) to be made 45 days before the end of the Period of Performance. Failure to request the NCE before the specified deadline will likely re-sult in expiration of the grant and potential loss of funds for the performance period. For your con-venience, see the attached reference from the Grant Awards and Cooperative Agreement Manual, October 2024 (GCAM) [PDF].

GCAM 32.2.a.ii.
ii. Requests for approval of subsequent no-cost extensions must be submitted in writing to the NASA Grant Officer via the NSSC’s Grant and Cooperative Agreement Administrative Supplement webform a minimum of 45 calendar days before the end of the Period of Performance specified in the award.”

The webform link for submitting NCE requests can be found here.

Wishing you the best,

Dr Francesca Civano & Dr Brian Humensky

Dr Bernard Kelly
PhysCOS Support Scientist, NASA GSFC
