XRISM Launch Rescheduled for This Week

JAXA, the Japanese space agency, has announced that the next launch attempt for the X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM) is officially scheduled for Thursday 7 September at 8:42 am JST (Wednesday 6 September at 7:42 pm Eastern/4:42 pm Pacific).

The next weather assessment will be tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11:00 a.m and at 5:00 p.m. JST before moving the launch vehicle to the launch pad later that evening.

The launch event can be viewed live on the JAXA English-language YouTube channel. This event will begin approximately 30 minutes before launch — around 7:10 pm Eastern.
